I am TIRED of being brave and tough!

This has been a long journey for Linda and me.  We have both been very tough throughout this journey.  But the recent increase in issues is becoming overwhelming for me.  Couple that with the stress of the move to Assisted Living and I am overwhelmed.  The expense of the move, t he fact that I do not feel good at all, and the impact of the cognitive and physical issues that have exploded over the last few months and I am spent.

Will I do better in AL?  I hope so, but I am not sure.

  1. Don, you may or may not do better in AL, but you and Linda analyzed everything and made decisions that you both felt to be good decisions. I know I have benefited from moving to CCRC alone, with wife coming for a few days and a couple nights each week. But just because it good for me doesn't mean it would be good for you. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope things work out as you had expected they would turn out. Now, being totally overwhelmed by all this is something I can understand on a personal level. The fact is you really aren't up to snuff on getting things like this done, and neither was I. Let Linda make decisions. She knows you like nobody else knows you. If she need a strong back and a weak mind, then you can lend a hand or two, but otherwise take it easy on yourself. You have terrible disease, it has been getting worse of late, and you are making a significant move in your journey. Take a deep breath and just bump and roll. Good luck my friend. Bill.

  2. You are dong the best you can do. The rest is in God's hands.

  3. All the extreme stress of decisions about the move to assisted living, getting settled and second guessing your decisions etc is enough to cause someone not suffering with LBD to feel exhausted and worn out . I admire how well you express yourself on this blog. Your words and thoughts give many of us; whether caretaker or LBD sufferer the strength to carry on. Thanks for all you do.
